Hemostasis Training Simulation

Hemostasis refers to the physiological processes by which the body stops bleeding following vascular injury. This process relies on a tightly regulated cascade of interactions among multiple blood components and coagulation factors. Imbalances or deficiencies in these factors can impair normal hemostasis. Such abnormalities are commonly detected and characterized through laboratory experiments performed on patient plasma samples, including:

1. Prothrombin Time–International Normalized Ratio (PT-INR)
2. Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT)
3. Fibrinogen

These experiments can be performed manually; however, in routine clinical practice they are typically conducted using automated or semi-automated analyzers. In this course, you will simulate the execution of these hemostasis assays using partial automation with the Stago Start 4 Hemostasis Analyzer. While the procedural workflow of each experiment is broadly similar, they differ in critical aspects such as reagent selection and assay conditions.
